Actinium ProductionProduction
Milligrams of actinium are synthesized by Radium neutron bombarding in nuclear reactors. AsAc3+ compounds it is separated from Radium via extraction by thenoyltrifluoroacetone or ionites. 1 mg of actinium may be obtained from 1 g Radium. Actinium metal also may be obtained via AcF3 reduction by Litium vapours.
